The Company's primary chlorovinyls products are chlorine, caustic soda, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), vinyl resins and vinyl compounds, and itsaromatics products are cumene, phenol and acetone. GGC operates through four segments: chlorovinyls; window and door profiles and mouldings products; outdoor building products, and aromatics.
IPHS: a specialty phosphates producer in North America. Specialty phosphates include purified phosphoric acid and its downstream phosphate derivatives. Specialty phosphates are used as ingredients in a variety of food and beverage, consumer products, pharmaceutical and nutritional supplements, and industrial applications. Innophos has three principal product lines: specialty salts and specialty acids, purified phosphoric acid, and technical sodium tripolyphosphates (STPP) and other products. NL: operates in the chemicals industry through its non-controlling interest in Kronos Worldwide, Inc. As of December 31, 2006, the Company held a 70% interest in CompX and a 36% interest in Kronos. CompX is a manufacturer of security products, precision ball bearing slides and ergonomic computer support systems used in the office furniture, transportation, postal, tool storage and a variety of other industries. Kronos is a global producer and marketer of value-added titanium dioxide pigments (TiO2), which are used for imparting whiteness, brightness and opacity to a diverse range of customer applications and end-use markets, including coatings, plastics, paper and other industrial and consumer products. |
